As it has every year since the event's inception six years ago, CinemaNext Hungary is proudly serving as the digital cinema technology provider for the Hungarian National Film Festival, known as MOZ.GO, the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival. The 2024 edition runs June 12-16 across three cities in the picturesque Veszprém-Balaton region - Veszprém, Balatonfüred, and Balatonalmádi, organized by the National Film Institute and the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program.
This major celebration of domestic Hungarian cinema sees CinemaNext undertaking a substantial deployment of screening services and equipment. The company is setting up a total of five digital cinema auditoriums out of the festival's ten screening venues. The other five includes installing a 400+ seat open-air cinema and a 250+ seat outdoor venue with LED walls, as well as an indoor pop-up site at the Veszprém Petőfi Theater with three HD projection locations for short and documentary films.
The three pop-up cinemas are being outfitted with cutting-edge Christie and Barco digital cinema projectors, including the Christie CP4230-XE, CP2415-RGB models and the Barco DP10S. CinemaNext's role also extends to the two permanent year-round cinemas participating in the festival, where it is serving as the technology integrator and equipment maintainer. These venues house Christie CP2415-RGB and Barco SP4K-25C-RGB projectors.

Berkes noted that the festival, held under the auspices of the Hungarian Film Academy, is one of the biggest official networking events of the year for the local film industry. The Closing Ceremony on the final evening routinely draws many of the country's most prominent cinema professionals.

This year's packed program includes nearly 100 Hungarian films across a diverse array of genres - dramas, comedies, documentaries and more. Highly anticipated world premieres include the crime comedy "We Kill Today," starring acting legends like Judit Pogány and Gyula Bodrogi. Other highlights are the musical documentary "Kaláka - From the Carpathians to the Caribbean Sea" by Réka Pigniczky, and behind-the-scenes previews of major upcoming TV productions like the epic historical series "Hunyadi" and action thriller "SEREG."
The Hungarian film industry has been on a major upswing in recent years, with 2023 seeing a record $910 million in direct spending from film and high-end TV productions shot in the country. This has solidified Hungary's status as the leading production hub in Continental Europe, offering world-class crews, facilities and incentives. It has played host to major Hollywood productions, such as Denis Villeneuve's “Dune” films, Netflix’s “The Witcher” and Marvel’s “Moon Knight”.
