The Macedonia Cinemark, which served the area for over 25 years, was closed for several months as it underwent a comprehensive remodel. Missouri-based B&B Theatres, the fifth-largest theater chain in the US, took over the property with the aim of creating a more immersive and engaging environment. Having re-opened in September the newly refurbished venue offers much more than just movies—it’s been reimagined as a multi-functional entertainment center where guests can now dine, socialize, and, of course, enjoy the latest blockbusters in ultra-comfortable new seats.
Extensive Enhancements by Sonic Equipment
Central to this transformation is Sonic Equipment, which led the charge in outfitting the theater with cutting-edge technology and amenities. The upgrades span every corner of the multiplex, from the screens and seating to audio-visual systems and concessions. - 12 New Screens: The theater features new screens, all equipped with advanced black masking material to enhance visual quality.
- Safety and Accessibility Upgrades: Sonic installed new safety aisle lighting in all 12 auditoriums. Additionally, steel and foam have been used to extend risers, ensuring better sightlines and comfort for all guests;
- Top-of-the-Line Projection and Sound: Each auditorium received new laser projectors, along with upgraded cabling. Three screens are equipped for 3D showings, while the sound experience is bolstered with new upgraded speakers and amplifiers;
- Dynamic Lighting and Specialty Auditoriums: Two feature RGB speaker lighting for a visually engaging atmosphere, while another has static speaker lights. The theater’s premium Grand Screen auditorium features ScreenX technology with soft graze lighting, offering panoramic visuals that extend beyond the screen. Another Grand Screen is a PFL screen for maximum immersion;
- Variety of Themed Spaces: The revamped cinema includes a Screen Play auditorium for family-friendly entertainment, a MAXRelax space for an ultra-comfortable viewing experience, and a Lyric auditorium - an intimate limited seating theater - named in tribute to the first B&B Theatres cinema located in Salisbury in 1924 - with richly colored wall curtains, wood-grained floors, and tray tables affixed to each of the heated leather recliners;
- Enhanced Interior Design: Seven auditoriums have been fitted with updated drapery , minimizing light reflection and ensuring the screen remains the focal point. Exterior speakers were installed to set the tone as guests arrive at the theater.

The theater is outfitted with nearly 790 heated, reclining VIP seats across all 12 auditoriums, allowing guests to relax in style. - Expanded Concession Offerings: The new setup includes two new popcorn machines, a new cotton candy machine, four butter toppers, and a hot dog steamer, along with various other accessories to keep the food service efficient and enjoyable;
- Full-Service Bar and Gourmet Menu: Beyond traditional snacks, guests can enjoy a full bar and a gourmet menu featuring burgers, fries, chicken tenders, pizza, and more.
