CinemaNext Equips Megarama Villeneuve-la-Garenne with Immersive Dolby Atmos Sound and One of the Largest Screens in Europe

CinemaNext France recently equipped the Horizon auditorium at Megarama's multiplex in the Paris suburb of Villeneuve-la-Garenne with a new 26-metre wide and 12.5-metre high screen - the largest cinema screen installed in a multiplex in France - and Dolby Atmos™ immersive sound for the release of Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" (Warner Bros.) on August 26.

Megarama's Villeneuve-la-Garenne location opened in 1996 and is home to 18 screens. With nearly 900 seats, auditorium 18, "Horizon," features a Barco DP 4K-60L Laser projector with a light output of up to 56,000 lumens, installed by CinemaNext France in 2015. The next-generation Dolby Atmos™ sound is boosted by line array-type front speakers, as well as 2 THOR cinema subwoofers.

"It's natural that we continue our policy of upgrading our theatres and technical equipment, to provide our audiences with an unsurpassed cinema experience," explains Joseph Vacrin, Chief Operating Officer of the Megarama Group. "It is exciting to offer the best available cinema sound and picture technology for an increasingly immersive and innovative experience. We also took advantage of this opportunity to reinstitute a large curtain over the screen, create a dedicated lobby area at the entrance to the cinema, install new stair nosing supplied by CinemaNext and change the auditorium lighting.”

"We are thrilled with Megarama Group President & CEO Jean-Pierre Lemoine’s and Joseph Vacrin’s quality strategy, and to support them in the ongoing modernization of their cinemas, where comfort ensures an exceptional cinema experience," adds Maxime Rigaud, Managing Director, CinemaNext France. "In addition to these new high-quality installations, the Horizon auditorium in Villeneuve-la-Garenne hosts a ‘smart’ projection booth that allows us to remotely control and operate all the devices connected to CinemaNext's Smart Booth solution; we can therefore power up the equipment even during periods of closure without sending a technician on site."
