Sonic Equipment Company Completes Major Upgrade at Movies 16: Janesville

Movies 16: Janesville, a locally-owned cinema in Wisconsin, has undergone a significant renovation thanks to the expertise of Sonic Equipment Company, part of the CinemaNext group. The extensive project, which ran from March to June this year, has transformed the 16-screen multiplex in Janesville into a state-of-the-art entertainment destination.

The upgrade included the installation of NEC Laser Projectors and GDC SR-1000 Servers, providing crystal-clear image quality across all screens. Sonic Equipment also implemented a Sonic Commander LMS with Cinema Ace Software for seamless operations management.

Audio improvements were a key focus of the project, with Dolby CP950 Processors installed, including two Atmos auditoriums. JBL speakers and Dolby Amplifiers were utilized to create the Atmos setup, while other auditoriums received JBL Surround upgrades.

The visual experience was enhanced with Harkness Screens and pleated wall drapery. Additional auditoriums feature upgraded Tempo aisle lighting for improved safety and ambiance. Perhaps the most noticeable change for moviegoers is the addition of over 830 VIP Heat Recliner Seats, providing luxurious seating comfort during screenings – something that is particularly appreciated during Wisconsin winters!

"Movies 16 would like to thank Sonic Equipment for their expertise while revitalizing Movies 16 over the past 6 months,” Janesville's management stated. “This project affected nearly every aspect of the movie going experience and has transformed Movies 16 into a state of the art facility providing a premier movie going experience to the Rock County area movie goers.  Here at Movies 16 it is our continued goal to provide a state of the art movie going experience at affordable prices."
